We expect a lot from our team members and champion their successes.About The RoleThis role is a hybrid between a data analyst and a research analyst. This hybrid role is designed to leverage both primary research skills and data analytics to support business decisions and strategy. This position involves analyzing data from primary research, market and industry sources, as well as various marketing data sources.All candidates selected for interviews must have experience with primary research data.Specific Job Functions• Lead and execute quantitative agile testing and research projects, inclusive of message testing and creative concept testing, in collaboration with the Associate Director, Analytics Strategy. This includes ensuring that agile survey questions and testing aligns to market research practices.• Support the execution and ongoing reporting efforts of the research and analytics team dedicated towards delivering on an industry wide flagship product to measure the brand equity of an academic institution. This includes the ability to write and update SQL queries/code as needed to evolve the model.• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources using SQL. Analyze data by writing and executing SQL queries and performing exploratory data analysis in Tableau.• Clean and prepare quantitative agile survey data for analysis. This includes identifying and removing poor quality respondents, recoding variables as needed, and otherwise ensuring that the datafile is fully annotated and easy to read.• Create clear and detailed data visualizations, dashboards, and reports. Present data findings and research insights to stakeholders in a comprehensive and actionable manner.• Under the direction of the Associate Director of Analytics Strategy, support maintenance and development of the agency’s tech stack/data pipeline. This includes supporting onboarding new data sources, fixing errors in the data schema, and any other maintenance tasks identified by the AD.• Ensure data quality and integrity for all deliverables. This includes performing quality checks on data pipelines (including data files from vendors), SQL queries, and reporting dashboards.Required Skills / Qualifications• 1-2 years of experience in a similar data analyst role.• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, and/or any combination of education and relevant experience.• Proficient in handling survey output data, including experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, with moderate familiarity in designing survey questions.• Experience using data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)• Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.• Experience with R and/or Python desired for data analysis and modeling but not required.• Experience with data science modeling techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, etc.• Exposure to survey questionnaire design and knowledge of survey design best practices.• Knowledge in marketing, market research, and marketing analytics is a plus.• Comfortable collaborating with remote project teams nationwide.Salary, Perks & BenefitsSalary starts at $65,000.00 and will be commensurate with experience.SimpsonScarborough offers a full benefits package, including nationwide health coverage, dental, vision, employer paid life insurance, flexible time off (FTO), student loan reimbursement after waiting period, and voluntary benefits such as critical illness and accident insurance, 100% paid parental leave, and a 401k with employer contribution after waiting period.Perks include flexible work model including Flexible Fridays, telework stipend, weeklong agency closures (summer and winter), and a day off for your birthday.At SimpsonScarborough, we believe diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are central to our core values, cultural norms, and critical to our long-term success.
