Job Title:  Survey Party Chief

Job Summary:  

The Survey Party Chief oversees the survey crew in the daily responsibilities of the land surveying department. This position is responsible for reporting survey data to the Survey Team Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:      

  • Lead a team of surveyors in the field
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of surveying projects for construction sites
  • Perform boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
  • Operate surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors
  • Prepare and review survey data, including field notes, sketches, and digital data
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
  • Maintain survey equipment and vehicles
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief
  • Experience with construction surveying
  • Proficient in the use of surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
