Director, Market & Solution Strategy

About the role:

The global Product & Partner marketing team is growing, and we are looking for our very first Director of Market & Solution Strategy. You will report directly to the SVP of Product & Partner Marketing and will be responsible for building this function and team from the ground up.  

This role is crucial in shaping and executing Sinch's market approach and positioning. As the Director, you will build out and lead a team of analysts and practitioners to develop a profound understanding of our market dynamics and buyer behaviors. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure that our market strategies are robust, and our product narratives are compelling and effective.  

You will be responsible for running our analyst relations program, competitive intelligence, industry associations, market segmentation, the cross-platform narrative, as well as any localization or verticalization of our insights & strategies. As this is a brand-new role, you will work with the SVP to determine immediate needs and quick wins and develop the growth plans for how the team & function will evolve.  

The role reports to the Sr. Vice President, Product Marketing and will be based in the UK or Sweden.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis: Lead comprehensive market research initiatives to gain insights into market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs. Use this information to inform strategic decisions and identify new opportunities for growth. 
  • Segmentation & Targeting: Define and refine market segmentation and buyer personas to effectively target and engage key customer segments. 
  • Strategic Product Narrative: Craft and refine our cross-product and platform positioning. Develop compelling narratives that highlight the unique value propositions of Sinch’s offerings. Ensure our strategic product narrative is effectively communicated through thought leadership pieces, analyst relations, review sites (e.g., G2, TrustRadius), and industry associations.  
  • Industry Expertise: Provide deep industry expertise to support go-to-market strategies and launch plans. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure our offerings remain competitive. 
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product management, marketing, and sales, to align strategies and drive execution. Mentor and guide team members to achieve departmental goals. 

About you:

To be successful in the role you are a commercially and business focused product marketer that have a visionary and strategic mindset yet with strong hands-on ability and understanding, willingness to deep dive into details when required. You are a strong communicator that is clear, concise, engaging and persuasive across stakeholder groups, adapting the content & language to the audience. You have the ability to strike the right balance between being strategic and taking a data-driven approach, while also being dynamic and knowing when enough data is enough. You love working with people and managing a team in a fast-paced, global environment.´

  • Extensive experience in market strategy, product marketing, or a related field within the technology or communications industry 
  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects 
  • Strong understanding of market research methodologies, competitive analysis (including win/loss programs), and buyer personas
  • Expertise in creating effective cross-product positioning and narratives; experience marketing platforms and multi-persona products  
  • Experience owning analyst relations including large market reports such as the Gartner MQ, Forrester Wave, IDC Marketscape and others 
  • Experience building out Voice of the Customer programs that marry up various datasets across NPS/CSAT, customer reviews, win/loss and more
