Purpose of Role

An experienced Platform Engineer is required to join a growing IT team to support the technology growth that the organisation is undertaking.

As the Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the sound management of the estate across both the Infrastructure as a service platforms and within the container platforms. You will install, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve the Banks platform environments whilst also maintaining the reliability and performance of the IT infrastructure.

The role will involve liaising primarily with the Platform and Engineering teams to further automate the deployments (using Infrastructure as code) and configuration (using ansible), allowing all change to be automated and managed within the DevSecOps framework.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Ensuring Configuration of all Linux platforms (ubuntu) meets Allica and industry best practise
• Assisting the Architecture team with configurations as part of design
• Automation of Patching and configuration of systems using ansible (driven by Jenkins)
• Automation of deployment using Infrastructure as Code (terraform & ansible)
• Work with Security engineers to review issues and ensure compliance across systems
• Ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the in-house IT systems that support core organisational processes.
• Use proven communication, analytic and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximise the benefit of the IT systems investments.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
• Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
