Major Responsibilities:
Observes patient in inpatient setting to ensure their comfort and safety.
Communicates closely with the registered nurse to have a better understanding of the patient's needs, diagnosis, visual, auditory or language barriers, along with any other special considerations.
Promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of the patient to the registered nurse.
Ensures patient call light is in reach of patient at all times.
Maintains a safe work environment; follows organization and department safety policies, including standard precautions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively interact with all types of personalities.
Willing to work in adverse conditions and the ability to convey a positive image.
Must possess a strong commitment to service management/customer service.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, life, squat, bend, twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
Must be able to:
lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
lift up to 20 lbs over the head
Must be able to:
- push/pull with 30 lbs of force
- perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
Must have functional vision and hearing.
May potentially be exposed to the following hazards: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
