Over a million people use Sketch to transform their ideas into incredible products every day. Would you like to join us and help take this growing remote company to the next level? We’re looking for a Head of Finance to join our Accounting Operations team.
The role
In Accounting Operations, our primary responsibility is to accurately report the financial health of the business. This includes providing exhaustive, clear-cut data to external partners— such as various tax authorities and public bodies - and internally to various peers and executives, to help them make informed decisions. At the same time, we are actively optimizing our operations infrastructure with new systems, processes and policies to keep the business running smoothly.
As a Head of Finance you will lead all finance-related activities across the group, effectively balancing both strategic planning and hands-on financial tasks as needed. We seek someone with extensive experience who can roll up their sleeves and dive into the details when necessary.
The challenge
In the coming months, we’ll be improving our internal processes and working on fine-tuning our product offering to give our customers — both external and internal — the service they deserve. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a new adventure, as well as personal and professional development.
We are a remote company, which has plenty of advantages — though it can be a challenge to keep up with our rhythm. Don’t worry though, we’ll help you feel like an integral part of the team in no time.
What you will do
Oversee the financial reporting and compliance of the whole group, presenting results and strategic insights to the executive and wider leadership teams.
Ensure local accounts compliance and tax reporting of the parent company (incorporated in the Netherlands) and its 3 subsidiaries (Portugal, Spain, UK).
Ensure the finance team acts as trusted partners to the broader business, emphasizing relationship building and establishing key partnerships with lateral functions such as Billing, Customer Operations and People Operations.
Be responsible for management reporting and forecasting scenarios on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
Liaise with external auditors and be the main point of contact for external audit procedures, prepare and review accounts reconciliations
Consistently assess financial processes and systems to uncover opportunities for improved efficiency, increased automation, and enhanced financial reporting capabilities.
Oversee General Accounting, Payroll, Revenue Collection and Recognition, Financial Planning, and Analysis, as well as manage cash flow and all treasury-related activities of the parent company and its subsidiaries to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and investment opportunities.
Manage the company's stock option plan, requiring a deep understanding of equity and expertise in effectively administering stock option plans.
Negotiate contracts with third parties such as insurance companies, payment processors, and external vendors.
