Our Small Commercial Analytics department is currently seeking a Sr Market Analyst. This position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.
This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Collaborates with State Managers, RVPs, RSDs, UW Managers & Small Commercial Sales Managers to provide strategic business analysis at the Market and/or Agency level. The individual focus is on driving CL business results based on either growth state or core state initiatives, as established by the State Manager and RVP. Analyst will contribute to agency analysis including assessment of competitive position, economic and financial modeling, emergence of observations and interpretation of data and analysis and working with field and business partners to leverage information to support and drive overall business results
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Analyze and evaluate loss ratio and production trends the Agency/Micro-Territory level, including root causes and recommendations for improvement
- Manage portfolio trends at state, market and Agency/Micro-Territory level including identifying outliers requiring deeper dive analysis
- Communicate findings and recommendations to State Manager, RVP and RSD while influencing conversations and decisions
- Coordinate and assess results for all Agency/Micro-Territory-level reports available across the organization (production, mix, book roll metrics, etc.) and identify monthly / quarterly shifts in results to be communicated to State Manager / State Analysts and field leadership. Proactively make recommendations for follow-up analysis where appropriate
- Partner with individual State Managers to develop key metrics for success, and report monthly / quarterly on progress to goals. (Goals can be established by market, by Agent, Micro-Territory, or state level)
- In conjunction with State Managers within assigned territory, achieves the annual Commercial Lines plan for loss ratio, premium, new business, profile improvement and renewal retention.
- Provide insights and thought partnership with State Manager on driving strategy at the agency/Micro-Territory level.
- Actively participate in rate reviews, including preparation and follow up analysis, including contribution to assessing competitive position and opportunity
- Review competitor filings and collect input from the field about competitor changes. Consolidate for entry in monthly report.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

- Knowledge of All Small CL products and state nuances
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry
- Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills. Able to not only compile and synthesize data, demonstrated ability to apply judgment to interpret and draw out findings from analysis and reporting.
