Senior Platform Engineer, Data Reliability

SmarterDx is a clinical AI company founded by physicians in 2020, dedicated to optimizing healthcare operations and enhancing care quality through advanced AI platforms. They are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer specializing in data reliability to build and maintain scalable cloud-based development platforms using Kubernetes and AWS.

Skills

7-10+ years backend and cloud development experience.
2+ years production experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, monitoring, and alerting.
3+ years managing large production PostgreSQL environments.
Expertise in Terraform and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in Go and Python, especially with Kubernetes APIs.
Experience with messaging/event streaming platforms like NATs or Kafka.

Responsibilities

Design and enhance the SmarterDx development platform capabilities.
Build, deploy, maintain, and monitor AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
Develop Kubernetes custom controllers in Go and deploy libraries in Python and Typescript.
Collaborate with Security Engineering to implement secure system patterns.
Manage database reliability and performance for PostgreSQL clusters.
Provide database expertise for engineering reviews and optimizations.
Automate database infrastructure and create self-service tools for engineering teams.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
