Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.We’re looking for a Manager, Revenue Accounting to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team, you will manage a team, analyze an accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and... accurate data flow. You will collaborate cross functionally with other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.What you’ll do:Manage a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, including coaching, talent reviews, and goal setting/development plansSet the direction, priorities and workload balancing for your team and often have multiple projects under your supervisionDevelop relationships and work closely with business partners to provide accounting and business support, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, changes in judgements and estimates that impact financial results, as well as implementation of accounting changesApply your knowledge of ASC 606 to non-standard transactions and new product offerings, drafting memorandums on the technical accounting impacts, working with the Technical Accounting team on more complex issues.Work cross-functionally with business partners on non-standard deals and new product offerings to align on the downstream impacts, controls and reporting needs for financial close. Design and implement new processes and controls as needed.Analyze, organize and deliver information that move teams to decisions and actionReview monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring high quality work product and level of detail Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basisAssess, research and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the businessDraft and maintain accounting policies related to revenue and costs of revenuesWork at the lowest level of detail to understand Company operations and identify accounting issues.Identify risks in and drive process enhancements, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX. Provide support for the external financial statement audits, as well as periodic internal auditsProvide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as neededKnowledge, Skills andamp; Abilities:Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ability to document accounting conclusionsAbility to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environmentExcellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organizationExceptional analytical skills, including ExcelA proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a high sense of urgencyExceptional organizational skillsStrong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periodsAble to work independently as well as collaboratively with a teamSomeone who is flexible, eager, and willing to build from the ground upMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience6and#43; years of experience as an accounting professional2and#43; years managing a teamCPA LicensePreferred Qualifications:Big 4 firm experienceFortune 500 and/or private company experienceExperience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.)3and#43; years with a focus on Revenue RecognitionOur Benefits: Snap Inc. is its own community, so we’ve got your back!
