Because traditional on-premises and cloud solutions struggle with this, Snowflake developed an innovative product with a new built-for-the-cloud architecture that combines the power of data warehousing, the flexibility of big data platforms, and the elasticity of the cloud at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.EXPECTATIONS:• Experience in software and IT procurement required.• Serve as a Procurement partner and liaison to the business supporting all designated functions, Procurement projects, and vendor onboarding / management.• Demonstrate an ability to build effective, strategic relationships with the business, vendors, and cross-functional teams.• Collaborate with Snowflake’s Legal and Security departments to ensure compliance with requirements and standard contract terms.• Ensure compliance with company’s policies and procedures.• Prioritize and lead multiple projects at the same time, working effectively with people at all skill & organizational levels, internally and externally• Familiar with reviewing/redlining master service agreements, software master agreements, statements of work, order forms, and quotes• Monitor and manage all new requisitions coming through our Procure-to-Pay platform, Zip and Workday.• For each new request / engagement with Procurement team: assist business with next-steps and guidance on all action required from their end throughout the engagement; while managing expectations on turn-around time.• Monitor supplier onboarding and supplier Management processes in the U.S. and abroad and identify gaps and areas for improvement.• Identify alternate sourcing if needed based on quality, price, and delivery. Contact potential suppliers and negotiate to obtain quotes on the most favorable terms.• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing• Perform follow-up work on orders to ensure vendor compliance with terms of purchase, especially delivery dates and quantity/quality; evaluate vendor performance based on quality, prices, service, and delivery as well as feedback from the business.REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 2-3 years in Software Procurement, with a strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay and the PR/PO lifecycle.• Would prefer someone who has worked with a Technology company (IT/Product/SAAS/Cloud)• Working experience in Global Indirect Procurement.• Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.• Strong understanding of legal concepts as related to vendor agreement contracts.• Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, and internal business customers, and senior management• Ability to find opportunities to optimize cost, improve service and other efficiency opportunities.• Ability to summarize complex business issues and evaluate opportunities for improved functionality, cost savings, and SLAs.• Ability to lead RFP processes and lead vendor negotiations through completion• Proven ability to drive positive change and build strong stakeholder relationships• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams.• Demonstrate a solid understanding of how contracts are structured.• Self-starter who can build sourcing/procurement credibility within groups not accustomed to working with procurement.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Process and customer service driven with a self-starter mentality.• EXPERIENCE WITH ZIP and WORKDAY IS A PLUS but not requiredEvery Snowflake employee is expected to follow the company’s confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data. It is every employee's duty to keep customer information secure and confidential.The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:• The estimated base salary range for this role is $89,000 - $118,600.• Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
