Social and Digital Content Creator & Curator

SUMMARY: The Social and Digital Content Creator & Curator will help execute our content strategy with the goal of maximizing reach and growth of our fanbase. They will create cross-platform content to reach new fans and identify partnerships, collaborations and opportunities, working closely with creators, influencers and artists to create trending content. They will be responsible for day-to-day production of New England Patriots YouTube and digital video content in coordination with the social, video and digital teams.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Curate the Patriots YouTube account, posting content, optimizing headlines and thumbnails for maximum views, while adding cards and slates for retention; track trends and new platform features to utilize where appropriate, while working with the video team for YouTube specific content.
  • Create and edit content for YouTube, Patriots.com and other social platforms, using archival footage, working internally to acquire new footage (players, cheer, mascot, etc.) and finding opportunities for promotions, collaborations and exposure on other accounts; including creating platform specific content.
  • Develop, pitch and execute platform specific content ideas, including long-form segments, promotional teasers and video podcasts.
  • Identify and distribute photos and videos from games, practices, events and photo shoots to players for posting on their accounts.
  • Serve as photo runner/editor on gamedays, running cards and uploading select photos for use by social team, designers, web and international agencies in real time.
  • Size, watermark and color photos and videos as needed.
  • Share TikTok strategy with other internal creators, such as international agencies, stadium accounts and other internal departments.
  • Ideate and conceptualize creative concepts for digital assets including gameday graphics, holiday illustrations, memes and other tentpole events.
  • Assist with graphics, including manipulating templates for video and static purposes.
  • Identify and interact with influencers, either for inclusion in our content or inclusion in their content; look for partnership opportunities to mutually reach new audiences.
  • Collaborate with Social Content Creator on creative activations with outside creators (illustrators, animators, sculptors, etc.).
  • Brainstorm collaboration opportunities for cross-department content, including retail, events and other partnerships.
  • Monitor trends across platforms and brainstorm content, especially for partner activations and tentpole events, such as schedule release, draft, Hall of Fame induction.
  • Help manage any new or emerging platforms, such as Twitch.
  • Assist with special projects that help grow the fan base.
  • Help post on social and/or digital media as needed.
  • Collect iPhone content on the field, in the community, at practice and at events.
  • Support Patriots international efforts as needed.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, video/multi-media production or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience managing or contributing to a brand account.
  • Advanced experience with Premiere and After Effects, with an emphasis on YouTube and promotional content.
  • Experience operating professional cinema cameras a plus.
  • Knowledge of sports, the National Football League and New England Patriots preferred.
  • A passion for social media and the internet, particularly platforms like TikTok, YouTube and podcasts.
  • Experience shooting and editing vertical-first video a plus.
  • A proven track record brainstorming and executing original ideas, memes and trending content.
  • Ability to identify storylines, popular content and be at the forefront of trends.
  • Knowledge of the influencer space.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator for graphic template manipulation and photo editing.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, working externally and internally, engaging with fans and external collaborators.
  • A creative eye and ability to identify and partner with freelance artists and creators.
  • Great communication skills, with ability to pitch and explain ideas.
  • Organized, detail oriented, able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and work on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to identify engaging and appropriate photos based on goals.
