From advanced distribution and farming hubs to modular, high-output technology-enabled Minifarms, we’re bringing the farm to the people, supplying the freshest organic produce to entire cities on a block-by-block basis.

Since 2017, Smallhold has established itself as the leader in US specialty mushroom production with our products found in top retailers like Whole Foods and Central Market and some of the nation’s most exciting restaurant kitchens, such as Maison Yaki, the Standard Hotels, and Bunker Vietnamese. Most recently we’ve expanded to bigger farms located in New York City, Austin and Los Angeles.

Our mushrooms, farms, and team (including an amazing cohort of farmers) have been featured in publications like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Gizmodo, Bon Appetit, Martha Stewart -- to name a few. 

What’s next for Smallhold? Our network is growing and with it we’re rapidly expanding our infrastructure, building farms in new markets and bringing specialty mushrooms to more people than ever before. We have big plans for this year and need people like you to help us spread our roots across the country!

About The Role

Smallhold is looking for a part-time Social Media intern who wants to gain hands-on experience in social media community management and content creation (especially TikTok). We are looking for someone who 1) loves mushrooms (duh!), 2) has a knack for finding trends (or beating them to the punch), 3) and a passion for storytelling and video editing. You must be based in NYC and be willing to travel to our farm and office in Brooklyn (near the Flushing G stop!). 

What You’ll be Doing:

• Report directly to our Brand and Product Manager!
• Visits to our Brooklyn farm, events, restaurant partners, and community partners to capture and create content.
• Bonus: If you like recipe creation or cooking, you will have the opportunity to create this type of content as well. 
• Monitor our social media channels for trending topics, conversations, and opportunities to engage with our audience.
• Help schedule and publish social media posts using social media management tools.
• Interact and engage with followers, respond to comments and messages in a timely and friendly manner!
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with overall marketing campaigns and goals.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends, tools, and platforms to ensure our brand remains relevant and innovative.
• Free mushrooms!

Who You Are:

• Strong understanding (and desire to learn about!) of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
• Able to be in Brooklyn, NY a minimum of 2 days per week 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design and photo/video editing tools.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• A self-starter with a proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Details:

• Location: NYC
• Position Type: Part-Time (15 hours per week)
• Compensation: $25 per hour
• This is a part-time position, offering 15 hours per week, providing flexibility to balance work and other commitments.
