Position Overview
The Social Media and Digital Communications Manager position will provide comprehensive support to Proterra’s Communications team. The role of the Communications team is to protect and enhance Proterra’s brand and reputation. We are Proterra’s chief storytellers and the custodians of the company’s narrative. We help inform, educate, and inspire customers, partners, policymakers, and other stakeholders about our company’s mission and vision, the strength of our technology, and the impact we are having by delivering industry-leading EV solutions for commercial vehicles. As Social Media and Digital Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company’s narrative across our company’s social and digital communications channels. This person will work closely with the Director of Corporate Communications to develop and implement innovative social media strategies that engage and resonate with audiences. This role will own the day-to-day management of Proterra’s social media channels. You will support the Communications team’s overall storytelling efforts, including working across Proterra’s business units to source and tell inspiring sources through social media and digital communications content.
We are a growing, multi-disciplinary communications team. To be successful in this role, you are a creative thinker with proven communications and storytelling skills, have a firm understanding of how to design and execute successful social media campaigns, and leverage social and digital communications channels to increase brand awareness. You enjoy collaborating with all different kinds of people – from end-use customers to battery engineers – and are passionate about clean transportation.
