Software Architect

Description

• The software architect develops, analyzes, and maintains the software architecture

Responsibilities:

• Support software project management during definition and planning of work packages and their assignment to deliveries
• Develop, maintain and evaluate the software architecture based on the software requirements and hardware constraints
• Develop the target design and document the design decisions
• Specify the interfaces between the software compositions
• Allocate software requirements to software compositions
• Identify the impact of new software requirements on the software architecture
• Support the software detailed design, software integration and software architecture verification
• Analyze the software architecture regarding functional safety and cybersecurity
• Participation in change control boards, as assigned in software project plans

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge in:

• System operating environment and users
• AUTOSAR
• Application domains including hardware and software
• Methods, procedures and techniques required by functional safety standard (in particular ISO 26262-6)
• Methods, procedures and techniques required by cybersecurity standard (in particular ISO 21434)
• Agile management and related methods
• Automotive SPICE

Knowledge and experience in:

• Embedded software development
• Functional safety implementation
• Modeling languages (e.g. UML and SysML)
• Requirements management

Advanced knowledge and experience in:

• Software design
• Design principles (modularity, information hiding and decoupling, abstraction, dependency injection)
• Architecture and design patterns (layering, pipes, error handling, structure patterns, …)

Tool Skills

• Basic knowledge in:
• Reporting and metric tools (e.g. SQUORE, PowerBI)

Medium knowledge in:

• PLM and risk management tools (e.g. PTC Integrity, Windchill, Clarity)
• Requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS)
• Tools for analysis and simulation of real time behavior (e.g. Inchron ChronSIM)

Advanced knowledge in:

• Architecture related tools (e.g. IBM Rhapsody)
