Software Developer/Scrum Master

Overview:

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER/SCRUM MASTER (ERDC):

Bowhead seeks a Software Developer/Scrum Master to support the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) contract headquartered in Vicksburg, MS. The Software Developer/Scrum Master will have knowledge and expertise in the development using modern software development techniques to include, but not limited to: Agile software development (SCRUM), Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment methodologies, use of Git source control, to include forking, feature branches, merge requests, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities:

Advise, develop approaches, and review software development processes for projects in languages specified by the government at the time of awarding of task orders. Common programming languages to be used may include, but not limited to, CSS, HTML, Vue.js, React.js, PowerBI, JavaScript, ASP.NET, or Microsoft Visual Basic or C# using Microsoft Visual Studio as the development platform.
Advise, develop approaches, and review processes for deliverables in software packages to include, but not limited to, Excel, Microsoft Projects, Confluence, Jira, or Git.
Design software for, but not limited to, Azure Platforms, ESRI ArcServer, Web Services, Web Applications, or Desktop Applications. The software will potentially interact with databases which may include, but not limited to, CosmosDB, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, HDF5, or MongoDB.
Develop code containing sufficient comments to allow future understanding of the intended functionality of each segment of the code.
Document and develop complex system designs and security approaches for deployment across multiple networks.
Common tasks may include, but not limited to, network diagraming, system design, system evaluation, bug fix implementation, and plans for system network accreditation analysis.
Recording testing procedures and results before merging modules to main branch for publication.
Train, mentor, and use agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
Assist and advise in determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
Schedule and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements.
Ensure the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team.
Track project processes, and deliverables and present status reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

BA/S in Computer Science or related field and an additional two to five (2-5) years of professional experience
Must have experience with programming languages such as C#, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and HTML
A CompTIA Security+ certificate will be required prior to starting this position
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
