TechTarget is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead a dynamic team of software developers. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. Your expertise in managing teams, coordinating resources, and driving innovation will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. This is a leadership position that requires a blend of strategic, technical and personnel management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to a team of software developers, guiding and motivating them to achieve exceptional results. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting growth and professional development within the team.
• Project Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize software development projects in alignment with business objectives. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and ensure projects are delivered on time. Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement strategies to mitigate them. Communicate status to stakeholders.
• Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of software development processes and technologies. Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, offering solutions to complex technical challenges. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to drive innovation within the software development practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other development teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the software development lifecycle. Foster strong relationships and facilitate seamless collaboration to achieve project goals.
• Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, balancing workload and priorities across the team. Identify staffing needs, participate in hiring processes, and provide mentorship and guidance to team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

Skills/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years industry experience
• 2+ years of management experience in a similar role
• Good experience working with Java/Spring Boot applications on the cloud
• Experience in Java technology stack including development/deployment on the cloud. Must be able to have deeply technical conversations with the team and architect.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong technical leadership skills. Must be able to dive into details
• Experience with lean/agile processes
• Good understanding of QA methodologies and best practices
• Good understanding of DevOps / Release Engineering methodologies and best practices
• Must be able to work cross-functionally with other organizations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
