Title: Software Engineer I (#SB-1207)

Duties: The Software Engineer I (#SB-1207) at American Specialty Health Inc. in Carmel, IN will assist in the design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications using latest Microsoft technologies. Perform routine programming assignments under Manager’s supervision. Develop an understanding of assigned application and internal customer area, standards and techniques, and general business knowledge. Demonstrate understanding of departmental procedures, programming standards, and all pertinent training materials. Conduct relational database design. Perform unit testing as applicable. Writing queries and stored procedures with MySQL or Microsoft SQL. Assist in providing time estimates of assigned tasks and compare estimates to actual time spent in order to improve estimating accuracy. Responsible for coding and object-oriented programming. Recommend possible improvements in applications. This is a remote position from anywhere in the United States (except for CO, CT, DL, HI, IL, ME, MT, NV, NJ, NY, PA, RI, Washington DC, & WA) reporting to American Specialty Health Incorporated’s office located at 12800 North Meridian Street, Carmel, IN 46032. Salary: $86,008 - $102,752 per year.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or a related technical field, plus two years of experience in software engineering. Employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or a related technical field in lieu of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and two years of experience in software engineering. Academic background or work experience to include: (1) Computer programming in C# and SQL; (2) Creating web development programming in a client/server setup; (3) Relational database design using MySQL or Microsoft SQL; (4) Software development life cycle including Agile or SCRUM; (5) HTTP, C#, and SQL optimization; and (6) Object oriented programming.
