The Avaya R&D team is looking for a senior software engineer/module lead to analyze product requirements specification, design the features according to the specification and deliver the quality code. The team seeks a strong, customer-focused engineer with extensive development, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Solve problems using established design patterns, explain strengths and weaknesses of their solutions, and use industry-standard code management, build, and quality assessment tools.
Independently build and deploy full-stack applications on cloud platforms using Microservices and Reactive-Domain Driven design.
Actively participate in feature design
Build advanced browser-based interfaces, securely process user requests using cloud-based services in Java/JavaScript/ReactJS, and design and utilize cloud SQL/NoSQL storage solutions.
Develop and deploy secure cloud applications using appropriate cloud services, with the API First approach.
Implement application observability to enable performance visualization and analysis for system evolution quantitatively.
Troubleshoot, debug, Zero Down Time upgrade, and fix issues in existing software
Mentoring new team members
EXPERIENCE
3-4 years of relevant experience
Have good experience in object-oriented design and development with Java.
Proven experience in design, development, deployment, and troubleshooting/debugging cloud-based microservices at scale
Ability to utilize distributed systems theory and architecture knowledge to build high-performance, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud applications.
COMPETENCIES
Full stack developer, able to build products from User Interface to Production
Java/J2EE, Microservices using Spring Boot, RESTful web services/APIs development
Hands-on experience with Azure or any Cloud.
Reactive and Domain Driven Design based Microservices development
Knowledge of container and clustering technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
Cloud Operations, Observability, Serviceability, and Troubleshooting Skills
Agile development methodologies
Ability to learn new languages and technologies
Good communication skills (written and verbal)

The pay range for this opportunity is from $96,300 to $130,100 + performance-related bonus + benefits
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
