Software Engineer II

LeaseQuery is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team .If you are someone who advocates for improvements to the customer's experience, product quality, performance and security, you will enjoy working on our team. Our engineers build quality through clean code, collaboration and automated testing. We practice Agile software development using scrum values and framework. We are 100% cloud-based, hosting on AWS. In this role you will work with colleagues across the organization to design, develop, and deliver valuable software to our customers and continuously improve the way we do it.

LeaseQuery's headquarters is located in Atlanta, GA, but this role can sit 100% remote.

What you will be doing:

    • Work through the LeaseQuery technical stack (AWS Postgres, .NET, .NET MVC, and React) to implement new features and improve our systems.
    • Evolve our architecture to meet current and future needs for scaling, performance, security, and reliability.
    • Tackle complex problems, resolve them, and implement solutions that prevent future issues.
    • Remain current on new technologies so you can contribute in evaluating and selecting new tech.
    • Share what you know across the engineering group. Help us learn and improve.
    • Be reflective and contribute to improving the team’s processes in and out of scheduled retrospectives.
    • Participate in the processes the team uses to organize around the work and get feedback such as planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews.
    • Communicate across teams and roles to ensure your team is effective and achieves their goals.
    • Use automated tests (unit, integration, browser-based end-to-end) to guide your development and ensure quality.

What skills and experience we need you to have:

    • Substantial experience in a technology stack and in enterprise software development. You have opinions about its strengths and weaknesses. You have worked in more than one single page application.
    • Experience increasing the quality and reliability of systems through good technical practices.
    • Experience improving the practices of your team and organization, in technical and process areas
    • Experience ensuring non functional requirements are met and maintained.
    • A track record of accepting feedback and working to improve.
    • Experience giving feedback and mentoring colleagues.
    • A desire to learn and grow outside of work through books, podcasts, meetups, conferences, etc..
    • Experience in automated testing.
