The Role
OSI’s Distribution Management System (DMS) team designs and develops the software managing the distribution of electricity from substations to homes, businesses, and other loads. Improvements and optimizations in the distribution of electricity has the greatest potential impact on sustainability for energy utility companies, allowing them to operate more efficiently and thus greener. Distribution of energy is also the most impactful on a personal basis, with the increasing penetration of electric vehicles and solar panels, the DMS team is responsible for keeping the grid stable and making sure the network is operating efficiently.
Your Impact
This position involves designing and implementing applications for Volt-VAR optimization, fault protection studies and power flow. You will primarily perform back-end development, with occasional front-end work. You will contribute to OSI’s efforts to support the industry’s transition to using sustainable energy sources, scaling our applications to serve increasingly complex and large electrical grids and above all else, ensuring operator safety.
What You'll Need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.

General understanding of power systems concepts in the area of distribution, distributed energy resources (DER), DER integration and / or distribution grid protection.

Experience with C/C++ and / or C#.
