Software Engineer - Rails

About the role:

We are looking for a strong mid-level Rails engineer to help us continue to build out our core functionality. Your primary focus will be the back-end development of new features for venture capitalists.

What you'll do:

You will be expected to help keep our application performant and well-architected so that our code is maintainable, consistent, and readable for new developers.

We are big believers in quality code, code linters, testing, and code reviews. Aumni is a Ruby on Rails backend with a React front end implemented in our own from-scratch component system. We also have a Node.js micro-services architecture that we are migrating to.

This position is for Salt Lake City (Cottonwood Heights), UT or 100% remote.

About you:

• 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
• Writing comprehensive unit tests for all production code
• Working in Agile methodologies (we work in 2-week sprints)
• Object-oriented or functional programming paradigms

Bonus points if familiar with any of the following:

• Cross-functional teams
• Docker/Kubernetes or containerization in general
• ETL (Airflow)
• RSpec
• Large dataset manipulation
• Microservices architecture
• PostgreSQL
• Security testing best practices and tools
• Stress testing and scaling services
• Venture Capital/Private Equity
