Cognex is the world’s leading producer of machine vision systems and bar code scanners for the industrial automation and logistics markets. We make high speed cameras with embedded microcontrollers and DSPs that are used to do robot guidance, inspection, measurement, flaw detection and much more in the factory automation world on virtually any product you might purchase at a store, including everything from automotive to medical to food. Cognex also specializes in designing the world’s hottest selling machine vision-based 1D and 2D barcode reading devices. These products are purchased by the thousands by large logistics companies across the world to automate their warehousing. While Cognex makes cool high-tech products, it is an equally cool company to work for. We boast a unique “Work Hard, Play Hard, Move Fast” culture that finds us whitewater rafting, playing disc golf, doing wine and beer tastings and more on company sponsored “Play Hard” days.
What is the Cognex Milwaukee Engineering Center?
Started in 1998 with less than 9 engineers, Cognex-Milwaukee has become one of Cognex’s most important engineering teams, with over 40 engineers and interns on site and responsibility for the world’s #1 selling machine vision system, In-Sight. The Milwaukee team creates embedded factory networking software, user-interface software for In-Sight’s programming tools, and Software Quality Assurance tests for these high-tech products. Our team has a long history with its internship program. A large majority of our ‘Cognoids’ started their careers at Cognex as interns!
