The Opportunity

Fair Isaac Corporation seeks a full-time Software Engineering - Lead Engineer at our offices in San Rafael, CA. The primary duty of the Software Engineering-Lead Engineer is to build, deploy, and support modules of large, world-class enterprise-level solutions. Specific duties include: 1) Extract data and audit operational test results by applying a strong knowledge of database concepts and programming using SQL queries and SQL workbench. 2) Track and audit of software changes through source version control systems (GIT, BitBucket). 3) Maintain and upgrade product source codes. 4) Write product specifications and document product features and present them to an audience. 5) Architect, develop, test driven development (TDD), troubleshoot, document and maintain complex scoring software products throughout the software development lifecycle per product specifications with an understanding of analytic development methodology and score card development techniques; and interact with other engineers on the Development and QA staff providing guidance, support, and problem resolutions. 6) Code and deploy analytic models using Blaze Decision Systems. Technologies utilized by the Software Engineering-Lead Engineer include: SQL, Java, C/C++, Python Scripting language, ModelBuilder Classic and ModelBuilder7; Blaze Decision System and/or Blaze Advisor.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in computer engineering or related occupation. Experience must include three (3) years of experience, which may be concurrent, in all of the following: 1) employing an understanding of various credit bureau data layouts to program to specification modules for use in the analytic development process; 2) designing and developing software products per product specifications leveraging development methodology and score card development techniques using Blaze Decision Systems; 3) developing products deployable into multiple environments (e.g., AWS cloud, Unix, Linux) and knowledge of performance tuning techniques; 4) coding driver programs to test the software and creating test data to support testing; 5) Agile, test driven development (TDD), and test automation; 6) software coding with a minimum of three of the following languages: Java, C, C++, .Net/C#, Python.
