About the Role:

GM Financial is ready to hire an experienced and results driven Software Engineering Manager - Digital to lead our team and oversee the technical and people management and is actively engaged in developing the team to deliver on business priorities that flow through the Scrum leadership (Product Managers and Product Owners). As a technical manager, you set the boundaries and expectations for delivering a quality product and timely solutions; you are an avid promoter of process improvement; you seek out and promote best practices; you own and refine the technical architecture, continually investing in refactoring and refinement to incorporate modern engineering tools and practices. As a people manager, you consistently invest in your people to grow their technical skills and soft skills; you celebrate successes and expose team members to new ways of thinking and working. As a servant leader, the Software Engineering Manager's role is to inspire, motivate, and enable the team by removing impediments.


Job Duties:

  • Lead the teams supporting Online Credit Applications and Leads for our Marketing business partners building the next generation of modern applications, platforms, and services by providing technical expertise throughout the SDLC
  • Plan for the budget, resources, and tools required to support the business and evolve the product, then execute the plan
  • Motivate the team to share ideas and learnings to promote innovation and generate excitement within the team
  • Define metrics that measure our ability to deliver on business and service level objectives; use the metrics to improve the process and product
  • Act as Servant leader: work closely with team to remove impediments, Coach and mentor team members to grow professionally and technically
  • Perform other duties as assigned while conforming with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
What makes you a dream candidate?

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
  • 5-7 years of prior software engineering experience required (In Agile environment preferred)
  • 3+ years of managing direct reports preferred
  • A background in development utilizing the following technologies: C#. NET, APIs, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
