JOB SUMMARY:

Support Software Engineers with development efforts on Karl Storz by assisting with ongoing testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of new and existing products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Assist with Software and System level testing of Karl Storz and Optronics products.

· Assist with troubleshooting of Karl Storz and Optronics products.

· Assist with documentation on verification efforts.

· Assist with software releases.

· Regular attendance is an essential job function.

· Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI’s products and services .

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES: List other important functions that are secondary duties but may be time consuming.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

· Software development skills – working toward College degree in Software Engineering or Electrical Computer Engineering, junior level or greater preferred.

· 1-2 Years of C/C++ and/or Java based software development

· Currently enrolled full time student, Minimum Sophomore class standing

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and standards (eg, U.S. FDA Quality System Regulation 21CFR Part 820, ISO13485, ISO9001)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: What is the usual educational background and work experience of an individual qualified to perform this job?

· 1-2 years of C/C++ and/or Java based software development.

· Currently enrolled full-time student, minimum junior class standing.

· 2+ years of school toward a degree in Software Engineering or Electrical Computer Engineering (at an accredited college).

· Experience with compilers and assemblers.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: What are the specific physical and mental demands of this position?

· This position requires sitting for extended periods of time.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

· Injury and Illness Prevention Program; annually - OSHA requirement

· Quality System training

· Job Specific - In house requirement

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: List job titles supervised by this position.

· None

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED: How closely is this position supervised day to day?

· Moderate supervision by Lead SQA Engineer and/or DQA Engineer.


INTERFACE: (Internal/External Customers) List positions, work groups, departments.

· Lead Software Engineers, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Software Development Manager.
