We are looking for a Software Verification Engineer to join our Validation and Verification team. The goal of a Software Verification Engineer at Wisk is to ensure that software that is developed for both flight software and ground operations meet operational expectations and high quality standards for both certified, safety-critical software as well as other non-certified software.

Why we need you:

    • The Software Verification Engineer is responsible for understanding operational and quality expectations for both in-house developed software as well as software developed by partners or purchased from a vendor. They will aid in development of the software requirements and defining tools and processes to prove that software meets expected standards.

What you will do:

    • Help to define verification systems and processes for avionics and ground-based software
    • Participate in the detailed planning of software verification efforts
    • Requirement Analysis: Perform peer review, and propose modifications, of software specifications to support completeness, correctness and verifiability of the requirements
    • Requirements-based Software Verification, which may include but not limited to:
    • Performing reviews on artifacts such as software requirements, design, architecture and code.
    • Developing verification strategy, test cases, test procedures (python or any other scripting languages) and associated verification artifacts to demonstrate that the software is implemented as per the requirements.
    • Performing peer reviews on verification artifacts developed by other verification engineers.
    • Problem report generation, analysis and rework: Identify defects and describe the software anomalous behavior along with recommended corrective action
    • Understand and apply DO-178 and DO-331 considerations during the software verification process
    • Closely collaborate with system and sub-system project teams to understand their unique requirements and define/complete software verification activities based on the needs of the project

What you have done:

    • BS or MS in CS or EE or equivalent
    • Strong knowledge of the C programming language
    • Proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language (Python, BASH, Javascript, C/C++, Java, etc.)
    • Ability to write/review review software requirements
    • Ability to create software tests which fully exercise a function or set of requirements
    • Ability to understand, use and modify software in a very large code base
    • Experience with code review and ability to constructively criticize the work product of your peers
    • Understanding of systems engineering and computer architecture
    • Familiarity with highly-automated software development processes and modern tools (git, Jira, CI/CD, etc.)

Desired:

    • Passionate about aviation and the future of transportation
    • Experience with testing frameworks for composing tests for certification credit
    • Familiarity with containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, Terraform, etc.)
    • Comfortable with Linux command line and Bash/Shell scripting
    • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
    • Prior experience developing/running tests using simulation (autonomous cars, aircraft, spacecraft)
    • Familiar with model-based design (MBD) using tools like Matlab and Simulink

$97,715 - $149,315 a year
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $97,715 - $149,315 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
