Join SolarWinds and grow with us!Your Role:The Staff Product Marketing Manager, Database will drive the creative vision and storytelling of our database portfolio of products, focused on top-of-funnel product marketing activities, while working with a PMM colleague focused on bottom-of-funnel and technical enablement. Our revenue-focused PMM team collaborates to address needs across the entire buyer's journey from market awareness to accelerating expansions.We seek someone with a creative background in campaigns, demand generation, content marketing, or similar top-of-funnel marketing responsibilities to bring to our Product Marketing team. While a background in top-of-funnel experience is essential, this is a proper Product Marketing function that will work with our Product Management, Demand, Campaign, Content Marketing, SEO, and Enablement teams to execute the database Go-To-Market strategy.Experience in knowing how to take complex technical messages and bring them up-funnel is key for this role.Experience in marketing technical products, both on-premises and SaaS, is required. Database experience is preferred. Product Marketing experience is preferred but not required. Don't quite meet all the experience requirements? That's okay! We encourage you to apply. SolarWinds has a hybrid work model to support our global company. This candidate will be expected to have a presence in-office three days per week to foster collaboration with local teams.Your Impact:• In product marketing, we're responsible for many things, and our pivotal role impacts much of the business. With a top-of-funnel focus you'll be leaning in to bring your expertise and that focus to the following areas with the rest of the PMM team.• Product Positioning and Messaging: Continuously refine the positioning and messaging of our database portfolio of products in terms of its ability to solve customer challenges and create crisp and compelling messages that drive market awareness and growth. Drive messaging that targets different personas based on their challenges, goals, and needs.• Thought Leadership: Generate insightful & compelling content (webinars, blogs, e-books, etc.) to influence customers, buyers, industry specialists, research analysts, key editors in the press, and other third parties.• Product Launches: Collaboratively plan, create, and execute product launches that drive awareness, demand, and revenue.• Demand Generation: Work closely with the demand generation team to develop campaign strategy, deliver campaign assets, monitor and measure effectiveness, and develop plans to exceed revenue goals.• Product Marketing Planning & Execution: Collaborate on thoughtful product marketing plans that are comprehensive and cover the spectrum of initiatives needed for business goals - vision/thought leadership, enablement, analyst initiatives, and customer awareness and adoption.• Go-to-Market Strategy Execution: Product Marketing supports revenue attainment and growth. This role will be responsible for executing against the go-to-market strategy and influencing teams across business areas that impact performance, starting with a close relationship with sales and demand generation teams.• Sales & Channel Enablement and Content: Work closely with sales to understand their challenges and needs relative to selling the offering. Develop and deliver relevant training. Create and maintain a playbook of sales tools to help Sales succeed.• Digital and Live Event Support: Provide product and market expertise for tradeshows, webinars, and seminars.• Working with a global team of A-players: You will work with a tightly coupled cross-functional team of highly talented and experienced professionals. There is a high focus on execution and organization, but we don't let formal processes get in the way of opportunity or experimentation.• Customer and Competitive Intelligence: Identify and validate urgent, pervasive problems in the market by interviewing customers, recent evaluators, and potential buyers. Map their needs with target markets, analyze competitor and alternative offerings, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a strategy for winning against the competition.• Travel up to 20% of the yearYour Experience:• 5 - 7 years of solid background in B2B technology marketing required. Knowledge of the Database market, including on-premises and SaaS, key players in this space, and related markets would be beneficial.• Experience producing creative, technical content and acting as a key influencer and spokesperson in the market.• Demonstrative analytical skills and a passion for product analysis, competitive analysis, and market dynamics, with a solid ability to synthesize market data and provide solutions even on short notice or constrained deadlines.• Creative ability to craft product messaging that resonates and connects with the diverse demographics of the target buyers and users.• Must be able to influence all personnel levels and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Sales and Marketing to drive toward a unified direction.• Possess an apparent and seasoned business judgment that will earn the trust and respect of the team, peers, and executives.• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex material to both technical teams and consumers in a way that relates effectively to each audience.• Ability to navigate and thrive in a cross-functional, highly matrixed environment on a global scale.SolarWinds is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
