Arqit supplies a unique quantum encryption Platform-as-a-Service which makes the communications links of any networked device secure against current and future forms of attack – even from a quantum computer.

Arqit's product, QuantumCloud™ was launched in July 2021. It enables any device to download a lightweight software agent, which can create encryption keys in partnership with any other device. The keys are computationally secure, one-time use and zero trust. QuantumCloud™ can create limitless volumes of keys in limitless group sizes and can regulate the secure entrance and exit of a device in a group. The addressable market for QuantumCloud™ is every connected device.

The role may involve working in our Washington office and of course there will be business travel to work with our customers. There will also be considerable flexibility around working from home.

What you will be doing

  • Working with Arqit's customers and/or third party providers to define the scope of integration projects, and determine the technical requirements; this will involve close collaboration with the sales team.
  • Developing world-class solutions in the form of integrations that help our customers work effectively with Arqit's innovations.
  • Writing high-quality, thoroughly-tested code that is in line with security design principles and customers' security compliance standards.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for the communication with, and co-ordination of, internal development teams.
  • Analysis, troubleshooting and testing of integrated systems, including performance tuning.

What we're looking for

  • Academic qualifications in Computer Science, electronic engineering or related field, or significant commercial experience
  • Track record of success in software systems integration, either as a consultant or engineer;
  • Solid experience through the whole SDLC, with specific technical expertise in Python, Java or C++
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-IT professionals;
  • Ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers;
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in the US and ability to gain US security clearance are both essential
