About the role

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for driving awareness and sales of our privacy engineering platform, Fides. The Solutions Engineer will work with their EAM Specialist counterpart to formulate and execute an Ethyca sales strategy to develop new customers in the enterprise space. The specialist will carry a quota for Ethyca product sales and work in partnership with the existing account-owning Enterprise Account Managers, Solutions Engineers, and sales leaders.

As part of a high performance team environment, the Solutions Engineer is responsible for owning the technical aspects of solutions and sales to drive Ethyca business development and sales growth by providing technical expertise around platform delivery and operations specifically in the context of multiple technical (development. operations, and security) and executive audiences (legal and governance).

In the role you can expect to...

  • Engage new and existing Fides open source users to demonstrate how they can be more successful with Ethyca by solving data discovery, classification, mapping, DSR automation and privacy operations challenges
  • Lead as a Fides and Ethyca expert in sales development operations to the sales team and technical lead on strategic sales relationships across consumer technology, large financial services, healthcare, web, retail and other industry verticals
  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of Fides, privacy engineering, and the overall Ethyca technology portfolio, and the competitive landscape to be a trusted advisor to potential clients
  • Lead pre-sales engineering activities including technical discovery, tech stack assessment, technical value proposition, architectural guidance, sales campaign support and ongoing client relationships.
  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of the overall Ethyca technology portfolio and the competitive landscape.
  • Align the value of the overall Etyca solution to the customer's business needs, challenges, and technical requirements
  • Articulate and evangelize the vision and positioning of both the company and products, and secure strategic commercial commitments

We're looking for...

  • Significant technical pre-sales / Solutions engineering experience or equivalent (3+ years)
  • B.S. degree in an engineering or similar program from an accredited college / university preferred or equivalent experience
  • Empathetic to our customers and their needs. You've been in a customer-forward role for 1-3 years as a technical resource and are able to lead conversations with confidence. Customers demand a lot from a data privacy compliance product. We are here to first ensure that our customers are compliant with data protection laws.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform to quickly prototype solutions
  • Experience with selling software products or solutions to large and dynamic enterprise companies
  • Ability to work well in a highly dynamic / team environment that focuses on providing above industry standard customer service
  • Experience in open source software business models and proficiency in cloud, infrastructure, and networking software

We are hiring US-based candidates for this remote role with a preference toward candidates in the NYC area as the role will require East coast working hours.
