Associate Cataloguer, Modern Discoveries

Sotheby’s is looking for an Associate Cataloguer to assist with research and preparation for the Modern Discoveries Online Auction. Ideal candidate should have a background in Art History and be detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Conduct research for each work in the sale
Assist with physical cataloguing and arranging photography of works
Research and write catalogue notes for a variety of works
Work within the digital catalogue design platform
Liaise with external vendors and internal departments
Evaluate works of art by assisting with research
Support department by answering phones and handling requests
Provide comprehensive client service

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area of study/interest

Benefits

Base salary range of $50,000-$55,000 with overtime
Discretionary bonus
Competitive benefits package
