Job Title: Spacecraft Systems Engineer
Job Summary
The Vehicle Design and Innovation Department (VDID) provides space vehicle design and analysis, rapid systems engineering processes, and vehicle systems engineering support throughout the program acquisition lifecycle using systems engineers, modeling capabilities, rapid prototyping tools, and dedicated engineering development facilities. As a member of VDID you will be developing the next generation of innovative spacecraft designs to solve the most challenging problems of our US Space Force, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers. This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO that requires 100% on-site work.
What You’ll Be Doing

Providing vehicle systems engineering support in the execution of customer programs, with a focus on Colorado Springs program offices

Leading and participating in conceptual and preliminary design studies and trades of space systems, to include multi-disciplinary engineering teams

Evaluating spacecraft design and architecture concepts and participate in design reviews

Working with government and program office personnel and members of ETG
-
Developing tools and models that support spacecraft design and analysis activities
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:

A good knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system engineering
-
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and demonstrate initiative under pressure
-
Experience in developing, leading, and working on multi-disciplinary engineering teams
-
Demonstrated experience in concurrent engineering tools, processes, and methodologies
-
Infrequent domestic travel [<10%]
-
This position requires a current and active top secret/SCI clearance with polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) from an accredited program in engineering or relevant engineering discipline (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial simulation tools/programming languages, including one or more of: MATLAB, Python, Simulink, STK, C++, SolidWorks

Strong, demonstrated personal initiative

Experience with Space Force community

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
