Materials Engineer, Vehicle Refurbishment

SpaceX is seeking a Materials Engineer for vehicle refurbishment, to assess and provide engineering solutions for reusability efforts on their vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials engineering, especially with polymeric processes and corrosion assessment.

Skills

Knowledge of polymer physics
Experience with vehicle integration
Laboratory instrument proficiency
Strong analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve material challenges
Perform regulatory documentation and maintain knowledge of requirements
Analyze vehicles and coatings for performance and durability
Apply corrosion knowledge in maintenance and repairs
Conduct material characterization at launch sites
Support lab maintenance

Education

Bachelor's degree in materials or chemical engineering
