Software Engineer (Ground Segment)

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. They are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer for their Ground Segment team responsible for space to ground communications and tracking.

Skills

2+ years of experience in Python or C++
Experience with spacecraft, ground station, or communication system operations
Solid fundamental knowledge of networks, electronics, math, engineering, and physics
Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
Excellent communication skills and teamwork
Knowledge of networking protocols and control theory
Experience with fault-tolerant software design

Responsibilities

Design, test, and integrate highly reliable software systems for space communication
Develop continuous integration and testing systems for software deployment
Prototype new designs, analyze data, and provide quantitative analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders to execute software solutions
Perform post-operation data analysis to evaluate system performance

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline
2+ years of professional software development experience
Experience in a Linux environment
