SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. They are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for the Materials Engineering User Terminals team to design and build custom machines critical to Starlink production.

Skills
Experience with high precision machining
Custom machine design
Structural analysis
3D CAD software and 2D drawings
Common manufacturing and machining processes
Understanding of drafting standards and GD&T
Experience with Siemens Unigraphics (UGS/NX) and Teamcenter CAD/PDM systems
FEA and structures hand calculations
Responsibilities
Design and develop structures, mechanisms, and automation equipment for high volume production of Starlink user terminals
Own projects from concept generation to production bring-up
Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure success
Manage engineering capacity, schedules, and project plans
Solve complex problems with speed and efficiency
Inform estimations of manufacturing costs and maintain detailed schedules
Education
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials, or other engineering discipline
