Overview:
As part of a mission centric, locally delivered and nationally powered organization this role serves as the Business Development Specialist responsible for prospect identification and support for corporate engagement strategies of the Business Development Team. Key operational functions for this role include partnering with Prospect Research, Stewardship, and Communications teammates to support the solicitation cycle for corporate prospects. Relentlessly pursuing cancer cures.

Additional Position Information: . Responsibilities:
Prospect Identification
  • Proactively execute strategies to identify sources of corporate support to generate leads for Business Development staff.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify potential supporters and partners.
  • Create in-depth research on corporations using a wide variety of internal and external resources to assess a potential corporate partner’s capacity and propensity to donate.
  • Create corporate executive summaries as needed for potential corporate prospects.
  • Conduct data mining of current and former corporate supporters of the organization to identify potential for future partnership opportunities.
Corporate Engagement
  • Partner with Stewardship and Communications team to coordinate list review and materials for frontline Business Development staff.
  • Support the creation of pitch decks for Business Development Team using existing templates.
  • Coordinate and prepare briefing materials for external meetings with corporate partners, sponsors, and prospects.
  • Ensure that corporate accounts are accurately maintained in the CRM.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Advancement and Business Development teams to identify opportunities to collaboratively engage individuals and corporations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Business Development team.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in Prospect Research and/or Corporate Philanthropy
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong organizational, collaboration and communication skills
  • Must be highly proficient in Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Average salary range is $40k-$55k, open to further discussion based on geography.
