Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Spout Attendant will be responsible for the proper handling, filling, and labelling of product in the Milling area.
The ideal candidate will be responsible to complete clear and accurate documentation, housekeeping and effective communication with the Mill Leads and Co-workers critical to ensure a quality and safe product is continuously produced. A strong emphasis on cross-contamination prevention, General Manufacturing Practices, workplace safety as well as food safety regulations are required.
Position Responsibilities
- Monitor the assigned spout(s) to ensure that all drum labels correspond to the product, are properly placed and specified weights are achieved.
- During the assigned floor rotation, the Spout Attendant will complete the Mill Monitoring Label Verification checklist at the assigned location.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly tethered and in their designated areas during and at the end of each shift.
- Report any safety or equipment issues to your Lead or Supervisor.
- Accurately fill products into drums to correct fill weight and ensure product seal integrity to prevent spoilage or product degradation.
- The Spout Attendant is responsible for the proper handling, filling, and labeling of product in the Milling area. In addition, clear and accurate documentation, housekeeping and effective communication will Mill Leads, and Coworkers is critical to ensure a quality and safe product is continuously produced. A strong emphasis on cross-contamination prevention, GMP's, workplace safety as well as food safety regulations are required.
- Inspect drums for cleanliness, foreign material, and defects prior to filling.
- Verify that all product is properly labeled, and all documentation is accurately and filled out.
- Fill all products in accordance with cross-contamination prevention procedures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety regulations.
- Housekeeping which includes but not limited to regular sweeping of floors, upper-level platforms, discarding of waste in garbage bins, discarding and weighing onion waste, maintaining work area and other duties as assigned by your Lead and or Supervisor will be required.

- Participate in employee related trainings and compliance.
- Keep damaged drum holding area and drum room neat, organized, and ensured that all walkways, doors, and emergency exits are kept cleared at all times.
- Report any safety, product quality and mechanical issues to your lead or Supervisor promptly.
- Assist others as needed or as instructed by your lead or Supervisor.
- The specified personal protection equipment shall be worn at all times while working in designated areas. Example (work boots, gloves, eye protection, ear plugs etc.
- This position is not limited to those duties in the job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced, or deleted to meet the business needs of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. consistently throughout a shift.
- Capable of safely maneuvering drum that weigh up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and department Leads.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a dusty, fast paced, and noisy production environment.
- Able to ascend and descend stairs.
- Ability to take direction from the department leads and work in a team driven atmosphere.
- Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety regulations.
- Ability to wear and use all assigned personal protective equipment (hard hat, gloves, eye protection, ear plugs and steel toe footwear/nonslip, etc.).
