Sprout Social is looking to hire a Customer Lifecycle Marketing Manager - Expansion to the Marketing team reporting into the Senior Manager of Customer Lifecycle Marketing.

What you’ll do


  • You will own our customer campaigns, webinars and growth motions with the goal of driving expansion of existing customers. 
  • You will drive the end to end strategy and execution of content themes and strategies. Thinking holistically about the customer’s journey and how to unlock additional value in Sprout to drive growth opportunities.
  • You’ll build strong relationships internally to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders like Product Marketing, Sales, Brand Creative, Marketing Operations and Customer Success to create and deliver consistently excellent customer campaigns and positively impact NDR.
  • You will measure progress against a growth MQL & pipeline target each month and quarter. You’ll also analyze the performance of each campaign, report out on it and make recommendations to drive performance gains.  
  • You’ll execute on Customer Marketing’s role in customer campaigns through various different channels (including webinars, emails, community, and other channels). 


What you’ll bring


We are looking for a strong, strategic cross functional collaborator who can bring together individuals within various parts of the business to create thoughtful and meaningful campaigns to drive expansion (upsell and cross sell) within our existing customer base. You bring deep experience working with Sales and Customer Success teams. You are passionate about the customer and drive to understand the best way to deliver the right message, to the right customer at the right time. You are comfortable with change, building new processes and procedures from scratch, and making changes and improvements with each learning. You feel comfortable driving campaigns / projects forward, leading a cross functional team to ensure goals are met. You love data and reporting and drive to pull together meaningful results and socialize them out to drive transparency. 


The minimum qualifications for this role include:


  • 8+ years of relevant marketing experience, specifically 4+ years of experience working in a B2B SaaS Customer Marketing role, including cross sell & upsell activities
  • 4+ years experience with executing stand alone and evergreen email marketing campaigns
  • 4+ years experience managing cross functional marketing campaigns/projects from vision to execution
  • 2+ years experience with executing webinar programs


Preferred qualifications for this role include:


  • Experience working with social media marketing, social media marketers and the social media tech landscape
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, Pendo and Intercom
  • Experience working with data, data integration, reporting and analytics
  • Experience with customer lifecycle marketing philosophies and tactics


How you’ll grow


Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:


  • Experience Sprout’s in-depth onboarding, covering everything from our company mission and values, hearing directly from executives and founders, to deep training on our products and the value that Sprout delivers to our customers. 
  • Make a plan with your manager to set initial priorities, align on expectations for your role, learn about customer marketing organization and how it ladders up to the larger goals of the marketing organization. 
  • Start participating in weekly stand-ups, team meetings and marketing rituals. 


Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:


  • Meet with members of the customer marketing, sales, customer success, brand creative, marketing operations and other key individuals throughout the organization to begin building relationships.
  • Have a working understanding of Sprouts brand and creative guidelines and be able to craft clear and consistent customer communications. 
  • Have a working understanding of the Marketing and Brand and Creative teams process and rituals, learn our Agile framework and understand how to effectively plan for work to get done. 


Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:


  • Have your first performance conversation with your manager, where you will discuss your accomplishments in your work and work together to build goals for your professional development / growth. 
  • Present finished sand recommendations interall to inform of progress, optimizations and recommendations to improve expansion activities. 


Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:


  • Influence quarterly and annual goals for increasing the business impact of expansion programs as it relates to overall customer marketing goals. 
  • Have a clear readout of the impact customer expansion has made and a story on how that impact will continue. 


Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.


The base pay range for this role is $97,000 to $118,000 USD annually. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In addition to base pay, some Sales and Success roles can earn sales incentives. 


Sprout’s compensation ranges are intentionally broad to allow for our team members' growth within their role. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.


Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
