You will be part of a global inspection team assuring quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client need and each supplier’s production schedule.
Supplier is a small company that specializes in sand castings in aluminum and magnesium. The company perform Heat Treating, Metallurgical Lab, Machining Processing and Engineering, Finishing, and Welding.
Compensation: $30-$40 an hour, DOE| Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm| Full-time| Contract: 6-12 months|
** Must have some foundry experience
Responsibilities:
Production Planning: Manufacturing planners create detailed production plans by considering customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity. They optimize efficiency by factoring in raw material availability, equipment, and workforce.
Inventory Management: Planners monitor and manage inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, tracking stock, and implementing strategies to minimize excess inventory or shortages, ensuring timely availability of raw materials and finished goods.
Scheduling: They develop and maintain production schedules, considering lead times, equipment maintenance, and personnel availability. Effective scheduling helps meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
Communication: Planners communicate with departments like production, procurement, and logistics, providing updates on schedules, addressing production issues, and coordinating efforts to resolve challenges.
Capacity Planning: Planners assess production capacity, working to optimize resource utilization by identifying areas for increased efficiency.
Risk Management: Planners identify and mitigate potential risks to production schedules, such as supply chain disruptions or equipment failures, ensuring continuity.
Technology Utilization: advanced planning and scheduling software and other tools for automation, data analysis, and informed decision-making in their roles.
Skills and Qualifications:
6+ years' experience
Must have some foundry experience
Production Planning experience
Great communication
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Team player
