Why you want this job

• Manage our company's SQL Server database infrastructure, including cloud databases such as Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MySQL. The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for maintaining database performance, ensuring data integrity, and managing the security of the databases. They will work closely with developers, system administrators, and end-users to troubleshoot and optimize the database environment.

What you'll do

• Monitor, maintain and optimize the performance of SQL Server and cloud databases such as Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MySQL.
• Ensure the security, availability, and recoverability of databases.
• Develop and maintain database maintenance plans, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
• Design, implement, and maintain database security protocols and access controls.
• Provide technical guidance to developers and end-users on SQL Server and cloud database-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, replication, and connectivity issues.
• Plan and implement database upgrades and migrations.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and other technical documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical production databases.

Why we will love you

• 2-3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, with experience managing SQL Server 2012 and higher.
• Experience managing cloud databases such as Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and development concepts.
• Strong experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Solid understanding of database backup and recovery strategies.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Familiarity with database security concepts, including access controls and authentication methods.
• Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as needed to support critical production databases.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
