About the role:
The Sr. Data & Reporting Analyst is an experienced analyst that will aid in various reporting and analytics initiatives for the respective department. This team member ensures data quality, integrity, and accuracy of reporting while supporting reporting, dashboard creation, analysis and data gathering. This team member will work closely with the leadership to define appropriate metrics, and will have a high level of understanding of how to produce accurate and meaningful metrics to deliver high quality, actionable, efficient, and interactive reporting to drive business decisions.

Design, develop, and deliver analytic reports, data visualizations, and metrics which extract meaningful insights for senior leadership and cross-functional teams to better understand and improve business performance

Continually refine, enhance, and automate processes and reports utilizing BI/Dashboarding tools such as Cognos, PowerBI, and ServiceNow

Provide direction to and mentor Analysts on the team

Support and guide the team in the development of dashboard front-end reporting capability for executive reporting that provides metric trending and analysis summarized for executive-level consumption

Provide and seek training and mentoring from peers for cross-functional growth, learning and career development

Assist in facilitating group meetings by working with business owners across the organization, as well as other key stakeholders, to drive operational standards, ensure business value of metrics & KPI's, and align best practices

Create, implement, and manage tables/views in the Data Warehouse, write SQL/DAX queries used for front-end applications, review query performance, optimize code, perform data quality checks for data migration from server to server, as well as data validation of all reports/analysis

Must be able to perform data collection processes, troubleshoot SQL or DAX code issues, filter/cleanse data, verify data integrity through QA, as well as maintain deep understanding of data and information resources

Deep understanding of SQL and Oracle database technology and design concepts

Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations

Working knowledge of ITIL practices

Highly skilled in data analytics and data visualization

Advanced computer skills, including, but not limited to SQL, MS Excel, PowerBI, Cognos, SharePoint, VBA, MS PowerPoint and MS Access

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work directly with senior level management

Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions based on data

Must take initiative to explore best practices, keep up-to-date with technology changes & training related to reporting and analytics

Ability to understand GM Financial’s business; apply knowledge and critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions

Must be able use appropriate analysis, judgment, logic, and communication methods when solving problems and making decisions

Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience require

4-6 years of experience with relational databases and BI tools require
-
4-6 years of experience designing and developing analytic reporting require
-
4-6 years of experience identifying and developing metrics and KPIs require
-
Experience developing ServiceNow reports preferred
