Sr Product Manager - AI/ML Software

About this role:

As a Product Manager at Groq, you will be responsible for crafting winning products and solutions that push the boundaries of computing and that enable breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance Computing (HPC). In this role, you will join a Software PM team passionate about bringing Groq's groundbreaking AI/HPC platforms to developers around the world– and to make this service the simplest way for people to build powerful AI/ML solutions. You will work closely with other engineers and sales teams to understand ML developer needs, define new products, and bring these services to market. You will also support product marketing and sales enablement to showcase the product value to customers. The ideal candidate will both have the technical depth to convert the potential of Groq's Tensor Streaming Processor architecture into product momentum as well as the deep product sense to understand what makes a compelling service for developers. Simply put, this is a significant role that will redefine access to AI across industries and society.

Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:

Cultivate and articulate deep insight for AI/ML/HPC developer challenges & trends - their overall goals, preferred frameworks, typical workflows, common struggles, etc.
Develop a technical understanding of Groq's ML accelerator silicon solutions, the Groq SDK including developer tools and system software, and ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, etc.
Use this knowledge to define SW products that make Groq's Converged AI/HPC platforms powerful and usable for the masses
Lead day-to-day completion including software feature planning, go to market strategies, and new product launches
Design and own business-critical important metrics and engage with user experience researchers and data scientists to continuously improve product performance
Assist the business development team throughout the partner journey from first contact through new user onboarding to scaled sales

Ideal candidates have/are:

Developer-first approach, including experience writing software or building developer tools
Understanding of ML developer & data science workflows, libraries, and frameworks
Understanding of AI HW computing platforms based on CPUs, GPUs, TPUs, etc.
Tenacious, hypothesis-driven problem solvers who can navigate ambiguous challenges
Curious, learn by doing, and thrive with the vitality of a dynamic start-up environment
Passionate about novel computing technologies that can empower industry & society
Excellent cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

Qualifications for this role:

3+ years as a product manager with a track record of leading and launching successful software products and/or developer tools
Background in computer science or another technical field that needed hands-on SW development skill
Understanding of AI/ML software stack including but not limited to: Driver, Runtime, Compilers, DL/HPC/Scaling libraries, Deep Learning Frameworks, NumPy, etc.
Understanding of popular DL/ML Model Architectures such as CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, Recommendation systems, Regression, Clustering, Classification, etc.
Experience driving software development process from requirement gathering, road mapping, planning, scheduling, and execution
Familiarity with SW development environments and data-related programming languages (Python, R, etc.)

Compensation:

The national pay range for our technical roles are $100,000-$500,000. The national pay range for our non-technical roles are $90,000-$470,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Groq's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
