Senior Behavioral Therapists are responsible for providing therapeutic services to members. They function as a member of Health Plan of Nevada Behavioral Health. Under general supervision, the counselor provides therapy via tele-health on the NowClinic platform utilizing a brief, solution focused approach. Also, maintain clinical records, collect data related to this job position, and assist with quarterly reporting. The counselor is responsible for maintaining the established productivity standards, along with being within the timeframes required for completion by policy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient and family psychosocial needs and develops a treatment plan for treatment modality and interventions. This is done in concert with patient, physicians, nurses, and other members of the departmental team
- Links patients/family to appropriate community resources including but not limited to, information/referral to sources of financial assistance, transportation, support groups, and other community services
- Documents patient/family status, diagnosis, treatment plan, goals, and interventions, evaluation results, observations, and progress in medical record
- Serves as patient advocate and liaison with physicians, families, insurance company, community agencies and others as needed to ensure continuity of care
- Provides discharge planning based on meeting identified goals of the treatment plan anywhere

Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Master's degree-level clinician in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy, or Licensed Ph.D.
- Active and unrestricted license for state of Nevada
- 2+ years of therapeutic counseling experience with psychiatric population
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Located in Las Vegas, NV area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of NCQA and URAC accreditation standards
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to mental health and substance abuse
- Spanish Speaker
