Job Description

The Senior Manager, Internal Communications will be an integral member of the Danaher communications team. In this role, you will serve as the primary communications resource on projects that advance key strategic initiatives. You will provide strategic support to colleagues by developing and executing robust communication and change management plans leveraging a range of channels and tactics including branded emails, videos, resource guides and content for Danaher’s intranet and all-associate publications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholder groups to build clear communications strategies and plans in support of projects and processes that impact broad audiences. Implement innovative communication and change management strategies to gain adoption for new functional initiatives. Manage communications plans to meet business objectives, metrics and deadlines.
  • Manage, execute, and oversee performance of multiple projects/stakeholders simultaneously, ensuring quality work, plan creation and execution aligned to goals.
  • Understand and execute the broader Communications team strategy with stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to prioritize team’s work and projects and divest from non-strategic communications activities with lowreturn/impact.
  • Demonstrate strong storytelling/writing excellence when crafting strategies/communications.
  • Provide strategic counsel to stakeholders on internal channel approaches, incorporate strategies to maintain channel health and govern use of digital channels to maximize effectiveness.
  • Deep experience in integrated internal communications strategydevelopment and execution, Includes in-depth knowledge ofglobal digital platforms (web, mobile, social)), in person channels, content strategy, publishing and management.
  • Ensure all communications align with the Danaher brand, purpose, core values and beliefs.
  • Develop clear and concise messaging using a variety of existing internal and external channels, to effectively reach target audiences (people leaders, associates, functional teams).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to ensure functional communications are compelling and accessible to all intended and specified audiences and aligned to brand standards.
  • Manage the flow of relevant communications materials delivered through a variety of channels to 80,000+ global Danaher associates.
  • Coach and guide colleagues on communications best practices, strategies, and processes.
  • Manage communications plans to meet functional business objectives, metrics, and deadlines.
  • Actively look to build and drive an inclusive culture and recruit and retain a diverse team.

You must be an excellent and articulate communicator, intellectually curious and have a strong work ethic. You should be an independent thinker and self-starter with the bandwidth to multitask, prioritize and work on several key projects at a given time. You must have the ability to participate in spirited give-and-take discussions about your work. It is important that you have superior interpersonal and influencing skills with an ability to work with people at multiple levels.

  • The ability to take very technical ideas and concepts and put them into common language that is understandable by a general audience.
  • A creative, state-of-the-art communications mindset – a professional who understands emerging technologies and has a passion for exploring new methods.
  • Global project management expertise and a familiarity working in a global corporation with multiple lines of business and a multi-generational workforce.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • A strong attention to detail, superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Comfort working in a high-energy, quickly changing and demanding environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or English required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of related or relevant work experience in large, global organizations
  • Availability to travel as needed – estimated at 10%
