Phyn is searching for a Sr. National Account Manager who is highly motivated to drive sales, engage in high quality business development efforts and contribute to strategy that will add to the company's growing success! Your role will be responsible for generating new business opportunities by developing and nurturing relationships within the property & casualty insurance industry. Primary responsibilities include activities such as networking, social media presence, lead generation, relationship building, proposal writing, contract negotiations, closing sales opportunities and driving growth.
The ideal candidate will have deep roots within the insurance industry with prior experience in either selling products and/or services to major insurance carriers or selecting and onboarding into an insurance carrier. The successful candidate will help support sales strategy, be responsible for executing on the vision by rolling up their sleeves and calling on leads, educating, demonstrating, and selling Phyn’s advanced technologies, products, and services.
Here’s what our Sr. National Account Manager will do:
  • Own it: You will be responsible for evolving our business strategy and executing on it to grow market share in the insurance and adjacent industries while aggressively driving sales.
    • Product & Services Strategy: You will contribute to our overall B2B Insurance product and services strategy including industry positioning, product road-mapping, pricing strategies, third party partnerships, and other growth opportunities that leverage the unique products, services, data sets and engineering capabilities that we have.
    • Business Development: You will lead all external efforts in the insurance industry to evangelize and raise the awareness and value of our brand, our expertise, and best in class solutions around smart water leak detection and conservation while developing and nurturing leads into actionable business opportunities that drive sales.
  • Collaborate: You will collaborate with all levels of the organization in order to ensure consistency with the overall brand, quality, and promise of Phyn. You will work hand in hand with passionate marketing, design, engineering, finance, and quality teams to evangelize, educate, and motivate support to help create exceptional solutions for our insurance partners and customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Proactively hunt for, evaluate, and prioritize new opportunities sourced via cold calls, LinkedIn, direct mail, targeted campaigns, trade convention participation and other sales & marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Educate and promote/sell the company’s products and services to new and existing clients. Have a passion for listening, understanding and sharing. Strive to understand the industry, the customer’s needs and consistently find the right, engaging ways to present Phyn’s most valuable assets in simple, direct, and actionable ways.
  • Drive sales opportunities through the entire business development process to deal closure.
  • Prioritize and maintain a sales pipeline that drives and delivers against agreed upon company goals.
  • Develop and maintain a sales forecast that you will be accountable for, while providing regular updates to management and executives within the organization
  • As an account manager for our insurance partners, ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by proactively calling on existing customers to listen to their needs while educating them of new offerings
  • Plan for and use resources efficiently to attain or exceed profitability goals, partner with operations team to ensure supply and demand is balanced, create accurate and realistic budgets, track progress against forecasts and budgets, contribute to budget planning.
  • Be a Phyn expert. Know and explain product and services features/benefits, understand and sell the full product line, understand customer's business operations and needs, understand and respond to the competition, apply market knowledge.
Experience:
  • Proven successful track of creating new business opportunities, maintaining 5-star business relationships, and growing revenue and profitability
  • 5+ years’ experience in business development within the insurance industry with knowledge around insurance actuarial practices, claims processes, regulatory requirements, reinsurance, underwriting, new product introduction processes, running pilot projects, etc.
  • Working knowledge and experience with consumer IoT, Smart Home, cloud and related technologies, products, and services
  • Hands on experience with preparing business models, sales presentations, and pitching SaaS and DaaS based recurring revenue-based solutions
  • Proven success with understanding and developing business models that balance profitability with sales volumes, short term vs long term investment strategies in the sales and marketing efforts
  • Energetic, proactive, entrepreneurial self-starter with excellent communication skills who is capable of building relationships at all levels and able to generate pipeline of sales opportunities and converting it to sales
  • A positive attitude with the passion and drive to go the extra mile to exceed expectations for the customer and colleagues alike.
  • Target and results-driven, able to perform at high workloads, yet accurate with details and on time.
  • Willingness to be a part of, and cultivate, an innovative, fast-paced startup environment
  • Keeps up to date with market, competitive landscape, and industry/technology trends.
  • Thrive in working independently (as well as collaboratively), is resourceful and self-motivated with a track record of having the internal drive and motivation to get things done effectively and efficiently

Range for this position:
$90,000 - $120,000
Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, compensation also includes a performance-based bonus, and in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
