But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Sr. Security Engineer!

This position is in San Mateo, California but will also consider remote work as long as you're no more than three time zones away and can come to San Mateo now and then.

What You’ll Do:

• Deep Linux system and security knowledge
• Ability to architect both system and security solutions that provide a stable/scalable platform.
• Partner with engineering to manage and remediate any PenTest vulnerabilities.
• Able to triage and repair both SIEM and system level alerts within the production website.
• Coordinate with the Security Team to define and manage cloud security.
• Vulnerability / Patch Management.
• Escalation point for the NOC and SOC to resolve site impacting events.
• Working with Compliance and Security to deploy best practices as it applies to regulatory governance.
• Ability to work on cross department projects defining operational runbooks for the Compliance / NOC / SOC to follow.
• General understanding of Ansible / Playbooks
• System / Security level automation.
• Working knowledge of scripting - Python, SQL, etc
• Engaging in on-call rotation shifts.
• Assist fellow TechOps team members in handling tasks.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem components.
• Willingness to learn eBPF/XDP
• Experience with BGP, L3/L2 networking
• 7 years of experience managing cloud-based storage
• A combination of start-up and enterprise-based experience.

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is $150,000 to $220,000.
