Overview:
Otter Products is currently recruiting for a Sr. Transportation Specialist to join our team! This role is based in the Fort Collins, CO area, working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at our Old Town Fort Collins campus, providing the opportunity to work from home Monday and Friday.

As the Sr. Transportation Specialist, you will use concepts and company objectives to oversee inbound, outbound and ecommerce shipment traffic. You will actively participate in continuous process improvement by utilizing knowledge of logistics, supply chain and freight to perform analyses of organization and customer needs to ensure cost-efficient and timely delivery of product. In the Sr. Transportation Specialist role you will partner cross-functionally to provide freight and transportation solutions that align with organizational goals.

  • Under limited supervision, oversee inbound, outbound and ecommerce shipments and assist with international clearance delays
  • Produce financial and accrual metrics, analyze freight spend and make recommendations as needed to improve processes that impact financials positively
  • Lead cross-functional projects to review shipping processes and provide recommendations on improvements to processes that align with business objectives
  • Utilize knowledge of proper transportation methods to proactively assess and make process changes as necessary
  • Utilize transportation management system knowledge to provide recommendations regarding process improvements that align with business need
  • Track inbound and outbound freight on Transportation Visibility Tool, follow up on exceptions and delays; run reports for metrics and KPI’s on freight delivery; use tool to provide recommendations regarding process improvements that align with business need. Collaborate cross functionally within the organization to participate in setting annual goals and targets for freight spend
  • Create, maintain and follow inbound and customer routing guides
  • Create shipping method recommendations for inbound and outbound products that need to arrive by month end
  • Utilize freight audit software to help identify G/L coding issues, analyze freight spend, follow up with carriers on audit findings, and find savings opportunities and freight strategy
  • Utilize understanding of logistics, supply chain and freight to continuously evaluate and recommend shipping solutions that align with organizational goals
  • Monitor export clearance delays and investigate issues in collaboration with customs brokers and respective countries to provide solutions for customs clearance
  • Partner with rest of transportation team to conduct freight QBR's with carriers
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in transportation, warehousing and/or supply chain required.
