Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is a multi-program laboratory applying state of the art science and practical, high-value, cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems to protect the nation. Located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken SC, the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation’s environmental, energy, and national security challenges.
GSD is growing in the areas of: Low-level radioisotope detection and measurement, international nuclear safeguards. Export control programs to prevent the spread on WMD technology. Analysis of nuclear weapons, fuel cycle programs and the spread of WMD technology. Atmospheric modeling and sampling, nuclear material processing. development of nuclear material shipping packages. Electrical grid resiliency and cybersecurity.
SRNL is seeking a Chief of Staff for the Global Security Directorate (GSD).
The Chief of Staff is responsible for the following coordinating and directing workflow in the GSD front office:
Organization skills in the form of tracking of documentation, action assignments, and deliverables.
Communication to ensure establishment of priorities and measure progress.
Demonstrated capabilities to provide on-time, high-quality products, are essential performance requirements for the selected candidate.
Selected candidate will need to have the ability to develop knowledge of a DOE Lab’s institutional points of contact, diverse resources of support, The ability to develop processes, and an inclination to personally assist with high priority tasks.
The selected candidate will have a demonstrated track record of proactive management of workflow to prevent reactionary approaches to front office workflow.
This selected candidate will be responsible for managing the GSD front office support staff.

Basic Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Communications, Business, or a related field. 3 years' experience is related position.
Other Required Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years' experience in a mid-size ( > 200 employees) company.
