Senior Protocol Engineer (Off-chain infra, ZK Cryptography)

Stackr is seeking an experienced Senior Protocol Engineer with strong expertise inzk proofs and a focus on designing high-performance, scalable infrastructure for end-to-end rollup solutions. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of key components of our rollup framework, ensuring efficiency, security, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of smart contract engineers, cryptographers, and protocol researchers to drive innovation in decentralized systems, advancing the future of blockchain scalability and privacy.

Technical Skills

• Proven experience (5+ years) in protocol engineering, low-level system design or related roles, with a strong focus on off-chain infrastructure and ZK cryptography.
• Strong knowledge of decentralized systems, consensus mechanisms, and on-chain/off-chain interactions.
• Deep understanding of rollup architecture, including sequencing, execution, data availability and settlement. Experience in building and optimizing the entire rollup stack, including sequencers, provers, verifiers, and relayers.
• In-depth knowledge L1 and L2 interactions, including challenges around finality and bridging
• Proven ability to design and optimize high-performance protocol infrastructure with a focus on reducing latency, improving transaction throughput, and minimizing proof generation/verification times in rollups.
• Strong programming skills in Rust

• Expertise in zk-SNARKs, zk-STARKs with a deep understanding of both theory and practical implementations. Familiarity with existing zk toolchains like plonky2, noir, cairo, and other zkvms like sp1, risc0 etc
