Staff Accountant

Job Purpose:

Our accounting team is here to make a genuine impact and play an integral role in driving the business forward. With our growth, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team. This role will offer the opportunity to apply and improve technical and operational accounting skills in a fast-paced environment. One of the most impactful parts of this role is the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization across multiple locations.

This position performs a variety of accounting duties according to established policy and procedures. The incumbent will be able to provide an impact to daily operations of the Accounting department on day one. Reporting to the Controller/Manager, the Accountant will be an experienced Accountant able to execute a broad range of accounting assignments with limited supervision. Duties include critical journal entries, maintaining and reconciling complex general ledger accounts, month-end close activities and financial reports, and shared departmental responsibilities including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, cash management, fixed assets, and special reports and analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Utilizes computerized accounting software programs to perform duties and responsibilities including NetSuite, Excel and Salesforce
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and analysis of variances to budget
  • Cash Application and bank reconciliation
  • Generates accounting statements and reports as assigned
  • Organizes and maintains retention files via document system electronically for required period of time
  • Coordinate and prepare audit documentation for internal and external audit visits, as requested.
  • Manage day-to-day General Ledger activities
  • Engage with multiple departments and roles within the organization by providing technical accounting support
  • Apply accounting acumen for department performance quality with accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries
  • Assist the accounting manager with analysis and performance of period results. Ensure internal controls are compliant with GAAP and IFRS across the accounting department, including Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Present your communication skills by preparing and maintaining standard operating procedures for multiple accounting functions
  • Collaborate and prepare monthly GL Flash and performance reports and key performance indicators

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA firm or Corporate Accounting/Tax experience desired
  • Proficient in Excel & pivot tables
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Great follow-through
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects
  • Up to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of advanced education
  • Proficient in understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Exposure to SAAS Software industry
  • CPA or in process
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliation experience
  • Strong sense of confidentiality to maintain all proprietary accounting information
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • NetSuite and SalesForce knowledge preferred

Expected Competencies:

  • Business Acumen

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Travel:

This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight
