Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant with an inquisitive mind to help support our Finance department! This role is ideal for someone who is curious and enjoys solving complex puzzles, leads efforts to continuously improve, has a knack for building relationships with stakeholders, and LOVES leveraging technology to manage transactions and processes while maintaining a high level of accuracy. You will collaborate with our Senior Accounting Manager who is eager to coach, invest and help this candidate be creative with their future while making a huge impact on society by reducing food waste and climate change!

About the role

Onboard new vendors and maintain the vendor relationships
Review new vendor contracts
Process vendor invoices and prepare weekly pay run
Review employee expense reports
Perform weekly credit card reconciliations
Manage the full cycle of accounts payable operations
Assist with month/year-end close processes
Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis
Assist with implementing new systems and processes
Assist with audit preparations

Skills and Experience

3+ years of accounting operations experience, preferably in SaaS startups
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
Strong working knowledge of GAAP principles
Great written and verbal communication
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G-Suite applications
CPA or CPA candidate
